While completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Art at the University of Southern Indiana (USI), Sara Kay Rhoades specialized in bronze sculpture but her interest in lapidary and jewelry were sparked by her husband’s grandparents, Albert and Virginia Rhoades. Sara’s award-winning jewelry consists of high quality silver with precious and semi-precious stones treating each art piece with equal respect and creative energy (USI’s Annual Juried Student Art Show: 2003 Jewelry Best in Show, 2006 Jewelry Best in Show, 2007 Purchase Award). All pieces bearing the S.K. Rhoades Design name are made to be individually unique and effortlessly wearable. S.K. Rhoades Design can be seen at various regional juried art fairs and is available for purchase at the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art, The Bower-Suhrheinrich Foundation Gallery, and The Evansville Museum. |
